As per the Gulf County Emergency Management Agency office, an extension for the debris pick up was filed with the State but at this time there is no confirmation that the extension was approved, so officially the deadline was January 31st.

3. Air Force commits $3 billion to rebuild Tyndall
Air Force Commits $3 Billion to rebuild Tyndall in the next 5 years. The reconstruction will create approx. 5,000 new jobs and a major economic boom and will transform Tyndall into a State-of-the-Art-Military facility. The Air Force will soon launch a website dedicated to the businesses and contractors interested in working on the recovery.

4. St. Joe Company & D.R. Horton
St. Joe Company just announced it sold 94 homes sites in Windmark Beach to D.R. Horton to build new, single family homes. These new Homes will make up the Village Center East and Creekside neighborhoods of the Windmark Beach Community. Site development began in 2018 and home construction is expected to begin in 2019 with homes being available in early 2020 starting at $300,000.

5. St. Joseph Peninsula State Park
On January 15 the Florida Department of Environmental Protection held a public meeting to determine the future of the State Park. The South end of the State Park has reopened on January 18 for day use only.
The accessible sites are:
- the marina and boat ramp area
- the park South end trail
- partial beach access
At this time a final decision has not been made yet as to reconnecting the North end of the park by filling in the breaches.
